Women’s football in Saudi Arabia will reach another milestone this year with the launch of the first-ever Saudi Women’s Football Awards, announced by football media and culture company Footballco.

The INDIVISA Saudi Women’s Football Awards will recognise and celebrate the best of women’s football in the Kingdom, both on and off the pitch, with winners set to be revealed in May, following the conclusion of the 2025–26 Saudi Women’s Premier League season.

From April, fans will be able to vote in the awards from a series of shortlisted players and personalities, before a final stage of voting involving a panel of industry experts. The awards will culminate in an event in May celebrating the standout performers and contributors to the women’s game across Saudi Arabia.

The inaugural edition of the awards will be presented in partnership with ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading multi-asset class real estate developer and a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company.

The awards will recognise achievements across both sporting performance and the broader ecosystem around the women’s game.

The INDIVISA Saudi Women’s Football Awards will also extend beyond the physical ceremony, with supporting content across Footballco’s Arabic-language football platforms including GOAL, KOOORA and INDIVISA. Collectively, these brands reach more than 170 million Arabic-speaking fans each month, including over 20 million in Saudi Arabia.

Andy Jackson, Footballco’s SVP Middle East said:

“We’re excited to be celebrating the growth of women’s football in the Kingdom and those who have helped it to grow at a rate we’ve not seen anywhere else and we would like to express our gratitude to Roshn Group for their support in establishing this important event and milestone in the trajectory of women’s football in the Kingdom.”

“Women’s football is no longer niche. In 2025, we saw 250 million video views of our Arabic women’s football content, and when we surveyed the fanbase, the message was clear: they wanted the women’s game to be celebrated and recognised in its own right, not as a footnote to the men’s game. This drove our vision to create this new annual event, and I’m delighted it’s a vision that was shared by Roshn.”

Footballco has been actively investing in women’s football coverage in the region in recent years. In 2023, the company launched the Arabic edition of INDIVISA, its women’s football culture brand and one of the few media platforms dedicated specifically to women’s sport in the Middle East, alongside outlets such as The Mettleset.

This was followed in 2024 by Yalla Girl, the first Arabic digital show dedicated to the women’s game. Since launching in May 2024, the show has amassed more than 100 million views.

In 2025, Footballco expanded further with the launch of the INDIVISA Arabic website, the first website dedicated exclusively to women’s football in Arabic.

Beyond its own platforms, Footballco has also worked on storytelling projects supporting the growth of the women’s game. The company produced Destined to Play, a feature-length documentary created for FIFA and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which follows the journeys of aspiring female Saudi players and is currently streaming on FIFA+.

The awards arrive during a period of rapid expansion for women’s football in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Women’s Premier League launched in 2022, marking a significant step in the development of the sport in the Kingdom.

At grassroots level, 77,000 girls now compete in the annual Girls’ Schools League, while more than 1,000 female coaches have been certified according to data from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

The launch of the INDIVISA Saudi Women’s Football Awards represents another milestone in the continued development of the women’s game in Saudi Arabia, recognising both the athletes driving performances on the pitch and the leaders shaping the sport’s future across the Kingdom.
