Golf Saudi has expanded its long-term investment in women’s golf through two multi-year commitments spanning the professional game and player development in Saudi Arabia.
From 2027, The Championship in the UK will be co-sanctioned by the LPGA and Ladies European Tour (LET), carrying a $4 million prize fund and moving to a new summer date from July 19-25.
Golf Saudi has also announced a new multi-year partnership with the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit, extending its support across the LET season.
The commitments build on Golf Saudi’s involvement in women’s golf since 2020. Alongside its international investment, the organisation is expanding academies and introducing a new LPGA Professionals programme in Saudi Arabia, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for women and girls to enter and progress through the sport.
Golf Saudi connects international investment with growth in the Kingdom
Golf Saudi, the LPGA and LET are working to connect professional competition with grassroots participation and player development in Saudi Arabia and across the Arab world.
More than 15,000 people have signed up for golf lessons in Saudi Arabia, with another 4,000 on the waiting list. More than a third of those are women.
Golf Saudi currently reports around 4,500 registered golfers and aims to increase that figure to more than 30,000 within five years.
To help turn growing interest into sustained participation, its development initiatives include academies alongside the new LPGA Professionals programme. The latter brings in a group focused on advancing golf through areas including teaching, coaching and golf facility management.
The wider aim is to create a pathway that can take participants from learning the sport through competition and, for those pursuing elite careers, towards professional golf.
Saudi Golf Federation targets opportunities for women and girls

The Championship joins LPGA and LET schedules
At the professional level, Golf Saudi has made a multi-year commitment to The Championship, which has been staged in London since 2021.
The tournament will take place from July 19–25, 2027, moving into a premium position on the summer calendar.
For the first time, it will be co-sanctioned by the LPGA and LET, bringing leading players from both tours into the same field.
Its $4 million prize fund will also place The Championship among the larger tournaments in women’s professional golf.
The announcement follows the latest edition in London, won by 17-year-old Anna Huang.
LPGA welcomes The Championship to 2027 schedule
LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler said:
“We’re excited to add this championship to the LPGA Tour schedule alongside the LET. With a strong multi-year partner and top players from both tours in the field, this event will bring a lot of energy and give players another great opportunity to compete during one of the biggest stretches of the season.”
LET Order of Merit receives season-long backing
Golf Saudi’s second multi-year commitment extends its relationship with the Ladies European Tour through a new partnership with the LET Order of Merit from 2027.
The season-long points race rewards players for their performances throughout the LET schedule, with its winner receiving a season-ending bonus.
Golf Saudi has partnered with the LET since 2020. The new agreement broadens that relationship by providing backing across the season rather than focusing solely on individual tournaments.

LET partnership extends beyond individual events
The LET views the agreement as part of its wider development pathway, including for players who could emerge from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Arab world.

PIF Global Series concludes after 2026 season
The new investment also comes as the PIF Global Series prepares to conclude at the end of 2026.
Since 2021, the series has delivered 29 tournaments across three continents, creating playing opportunities for professional golfers while contributing to the expansion of the LET’s international schedule.
Events in Korea and China remain on the calendar in October and November before the series comes to an end.
The Championship will continue in the UK and, from 2027, become the primary focus of Golf Saudi’s tournament investment in women’s golf. That commitment will sit alongside its season-long LET support and continued development programmes for women and girls in Saudi Arabia.
