Greta Marturano Extends UAE Team L’IMAD Journey into 2027

The Italian rider will continue with UAE Team L’IMAD for a third season as she looks to build on two years of progress, strong team bonds and her Vuelta a Extremadura victory.

Greta Marturano will continue with UAE Team L’IMAD in 2027 after extending her contract for another season.

The agreement will take the Italian rider into her third year with the team. During her first two seasons, Marturano has combined personal development with an important role supporting her teammates.

She has also enjoyed individual success, highlighted by her victory at the Vuelta a Extremadura. However, Marturano says the relationships she has built within the team have been just as important as the results.

Marturano reflects on strong team connection

Looking back on her time with UAE Team L’IMAD, Marturano highlighted the experiences shared with her teammates as some of her strongest memories.

“There have been many beautiful moments. One of the best was probably last year’s training camp ahead of the Giro. The atmosphere and the bond we created among the girls is definitely a memory I will always carry with me.”

That environment has also provided Marturano with stability during more difficult periods of her career.

“This team has given me the security and serenity that I had somewhat lost in recent years. I was unlucky to suffer some serious injuries during these two years, but I was also lucky to find people who were always there for me and helped me get back on my feet. I am very grateful for that.”

The support she received, together with the progress she has made over the past two seasons, helped shape her decision to renew.

“All these things are some of the reasons why I wanted to renew with the team. Another reason is the constant progress I have been making despite everything, and I would like to continue that growth next year as well.”

Continued development at UAE Team L’IMAD

The new agreement gives Marturano the stability to continue that development throughout 2027.

Her relationship with her teammates will remain an important part of the process. For Marturano, the connection within the squad is one of the team’s key strengths.

“The group is very important in our team and fortunately we are a good group both on and off the bike. I think that is one of our strengths.”

With another season confirmed, Marturano is now looking to turn her continued progress into greater consistency on the road.

“My goal for next season is to have a good season without the setbacks and injuries that have affected me too much, and to be able to show my true value.”

Moncada backs Marturano’s potential

Melissa Moncada, President of UAE Team L’IMAD, welcomed the extension and highlighted the qualities Marturano has brought to the team.

“We are very happy that Greta has chosen to continue her journey with us. Over these two seasons, she has faced significant challenges, but she has always shown character, determination, and a desire to come back stronger. Her resilience and her commitment to the team and to her teammates have stood out throughout this period, and these are qualities we value greatly. Our goal is to continue providing her with the support and serenity she needs to fully express her qualities. We are convinced that Greta still has a great deal to show, and we are happy to continue that journey together.”

For Marturano, the 2027 season will offer the chance to continue building on the progress of her first two years with UAE Team L’IMAD. It will also provide another opportunity to contribute to the team while pursuing her own ambitions and showing the level she believes she can reach.
