Running through a Dubai summer usually means one of two things: very early starts or a few months getting closely acquainted with the treadmill.
New Balance and homegrown café Common Grounds are offering another option, bringing their Summer Run Series back to Dubai Hills Mall on Friday, 21 August for another 5km indoor run – and this time there’s a new post-run incentive.
The run gets underway at 6:15am, with the first 100 runners treated to a complimentary high-protein breakfast, coffee and one of three limited-edition electrolyte popsicles created by Common Grounds in collaboration with New Balance.
The new pops come in three suitably summery flavours: Pineapple and Blue Spirulina, Peach and Yuzu, and Watermelon and Strawberry.

The collaboration is the latest addition to the New Balance | Common Grounds Summer Run Series, which has been designed to keep Dubai’s running community moving – and connected – through the hottest months of the year.
It also taps into the growing social side of running in the city. Increasingly, the run itself is only part of the ritual, with coffee, breakfast and community becoming as much a part of the experience as the kilometres.
For New Balance, the series forms part of its wider focus on building the UAE’s running community through its Run Your Way platform, while partnering with homegrown businesses and spaces that are helping shape the culture around the sport.
And there’s an incentive for consistency, too.
The New Balance | Common Grounds Loyalty Program allows runners to collect a stamp at each session. Anyone who completes all eight runs in the summer series will receive a complimentary coffee from Common Grounds.
Future runs will continue at Dubai Hills Mall throughout the summer, with Common Grounds serving as the official post-run destination for each session.
