In Pictures: Women Lead The Way As The C1 Championship Returns

The C1 Championship returned to Al Marmoom Camel Race Track last weekend, 8 November and yes, it was just as exciting as it sounds. For anyone new here, C1 is the world’s first all-female camel racing series. Launched in 2021 by the Arabian Desert Camel Riding Center (ADCRC), it’s created a space where women can race, compete, and take the lead in a sport steeped in UAE tradition.

This season, the Championship added a Women’s 2000‑metre race and, for the first time, men’s races on the same card. Twelve nationalities were represented, including Emirati, Jordanian, Palestinian, Bahraini, French, Swiss, and American jockeys. The races were fast, the camels were impressive, and the energy across the track was contagious.

Beyond the racing, the Event Village turned the day into a festival. There were craft stalls, kids’ activities, coffee and ice cream, and local pop-ups showing off lifestyle brands. Fans had options: climb aboard Big Bus mobile grandstands, cheer from trackside, or grab a VIP inside-lane view; basically, there was no bad seat in the house.

The winners this round? Fatima Al Ameri on Shrood for the 1200 m and Reem Al Bloushi on Mohteram for the 2000 m.

The next races are scheduled for 13 December 2025, 10 January 2026, and 7 February 2026.  Tickets start at AED 25 via ADCRC.me. Consider this your official invitation.
