Young creators in the UAE are about to step onto motorsport’s biggest stage.
ADNOC Yas in Schools has launched the Formula Ethara GP Challenge, a new competition inviting students aged 8 to 13 to design their own motorsport brand, build a prototype race car, and bring it all to life during Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. One winner will earn the ultimate prize: watching the season-ending race live at Yas Marina Circuit.
The initiative brings together design, engineering, imagination and racing energy, aiming to inspire the next generation of innovators in one of the region’s fastest growing industries.
How the Challenge Works
Students across the UAE can apply until 24 November, submitting an idea that blends creativity and problem solving. The process encourages young talent to think like designers and engineers through a series of steps:
• Create a team name, logo and colours
• Build a full motorsport brand and car livery using a digital template
• Submit a two minute video introducing their idea and what inspired it
It is a chance for young thinkers to imagine themselves inside the world of motorsport, from creative direction to engineering.
From Classroom to Circuit
A judging panel will select finalists who will then head to Yas Marina Circuit on F1 Qualifying Day, where they will build and race their own Formula Ethara cars. It is a rare opportunity to see how teamwork, precision and innovation shape world class racing environments.
One standout student will return the next day for Grand Prix Sunday to watch the world’s best drivers battle it out at the season finale.
For children who love design, speed or STEM, this is a real world gateway into motorsport.
