World-Class Show Jumping Returns to Abu Dhabi as Al Shira’aa Hosts 9th Edition of Its International Horse Show

Women-led vision continues to shape one of the region’s most ambitious equestrian events as the show enters a new era at Al Forsan International Sports Resort

Under the Honorary Presidency of Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show returns for its ninth edition from 20–25 January 2026, opening a new chapter with its relocation to Al Forsan International Sports Resort.

Now firmly established as one of the Middle East’s leading international show jumping events, the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show continues to grow in both scale and ambition. Across six days of competition, more than 150 riders and 350 horses from Europe, the Middle East and beyond will compete for a combined prize fund exceeding €700,000.

The international programme spans CSI4*-W, CSI2*, CSI Young Horses, CSI Under 25, CSI Juniors, CSI Children and CSI Amateurs, reinforcing the show’s role as a genuine development pathway from grassroots and youth categories through to elite-level sport. The breadth of classes reflects Al Shira’aa’s long-term commitment to inclusivity, progression and the future of equestrian sport, with women and young riders central to that vision.

Arena highlights return throughout the week, supported by long-standing partners of the event. The Al Futtaim Ride & Drive class is set to once again draw crowds, while the Al Shira’aa Hickstead Speed Derby brings fast-paced evening action inspired by one of show jumping’s most iconic formats. With continued support from Longines, alongside returning sponsors including AMEA, KAR Sporthorses and Equitrans Logistics, the sporting programme builds toward its pinnacle on Sunday, 25 January at 18:30.

That finale comes in the form of the Al Shira’aa Longines CSI4*-W FEI Jumping World Cup™ Grand Prix, contested over two rounds at 1.55–1.60m, and standing as the flagship class of the week.

General admission to the show is free, with guests required to register online in advance. Gates open daily from 09:00, welcoming fans, families and first-time visitors to experience world-class equestrian sport in an open and inclusive setting.

For those seeking a premium experience, a range of VIP hospitality packages will be available, with catering curated by ERTH. VIP rider passes start from AED 3,500, while full-show hospitality packages range up to AED 25,000, offering premium seating, fine dining and exclusive access throughout the event.

Beyond the competition arena, the event village returns as the social heart of the show. Visitors can explore food and beverage outlets, family-friendly entertainment, children’s activities and a curated mix of equestrian and lifestyle brands, ensuring the experience extends well beyond the sport itself.

The Abu Dhabi event forms part of the wider Al Shira’aa Tour, a growing global platform dedicated to supporting equestrian sport at every level while elevating historic and world-class competitions on the international calendar.
