Repton Dubai has celebrated the achievement of Year 11 student Viktoria Leusheva, 15, following the launch of the latest version of her Vika app, an AI-assisted rhythmic gymnastics platform designed to provide athletes with more transparent and objective performance feedback.
The launch also coincides with the introduction of the Vika DubAI Open 2026, an international online rhythmic gymnastics competition that welcomes participants from around the world.
Combining sport and technology
Inspired by her own journey as a competitive gymnast, Viktoria created the Vika app to help athletes better understand how routines are evaluated and to address concerns surrounding subjectivity in judging.
The platform enables gymnasts to upload routines for assessment by Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) brevet judges, while integrated AI tools help interpret scoring data, visualise performance trends, and monitor athlete development over time.
The idea first emerged when Viktoria was 13 and became interested in how technology could support fairer and more consistent performance analysis within gymnastics.
Since then, the platform has expanded internationally and now serves more than 3,000 active users across countries including the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, and the Middle East.

Global online tournament launched
Building on the platform’s growing international reach, Viktoria launched the Vika DubAI Open 2026 on 1 June.
The online competition is currently underway and is expected to attract up to 1,000 athletes worldwide.
The tournament features 10 competition categories, with participants receiving placement rankings alongside performance grades designed to provide a clearer benchmark of technical achievement.
Entries will remain open until 15 July, while results are scheduled to be announced before 15 August.

Exploring the future of AI in gymnastics
With support from Repton Dubai, Viktoria has also begun discussions with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) to explore opportunities to further enhance the platform’s AI capabilities.
The planned collaboration forms part of a future Year 12 project focused on introducing advanced automated video analysis to the app.
Looking ahead, Viktoria also hopes to expand the platform with AI-supported wellbeing features, including tools aimed at helping athletes reduce injury risk and better manage their training loads.
Repton Dubai praises student innovation
Saiqah Amin, Head of Computer Science at Repton Dubai, said:
“Viktoria’s project reflects the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial thinking we encourage at Repton Dubai. Her ability to combine competitive sporting experience with emerging technologies to solve real challenges within gymnastics is an outstanding achievement, particularly at such a young age.”
Helping athletes reach their potential
Speaking about the project, Viktoria Leusheva said:
“I sincerely hope that my application will help athletes realise their potential and enable national team coaches from different countries to notice the brightest talents. It is very important to me that the application is being developed in one of the world’s key centres of artificial intelligence-Dubai.”
Athlete and entrepreneur
Alongside developing the platform, Viktoria has trained in rhythmic gymnastics for nine years and has earned several international titles.
Her achievements include first place at the UAE International Gymnastika Cup 2023 and the GCC Grand Series Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics 2022, highlighting the competitive experience that helped inspire the creation of the Vika app.
