Safiya Alsayegh secured her sixth career victory in the individual time trial at the UAE National Cycling Championships, delivering another strong performance for the UAE Development Team.


Racing over a 17.7-kilometre course in Sharjah, Safiya Alsayegh successfully defended her UAE national ITT title.
Meanwhile, UAE Team ADQ teammate Zahra Hussain claimed the silver medal, completing a strong result for the team.
Both riders are set to return to competition next Saturday for the road race at the UAE National Championships.


UAE Development Team competes at NXT Classic in Netherlands
In parallel, several riders from the UAE Development Team competed at the NXT Classic in Eijsden, a 118-kilometre race decided in a bunch sprint.
Eilidh Shaw delivered another consistent performance, finishing eighth to secure a top-10 result. The race was won by Anna Vanderaerden of Fenix-Deceuninck Development Team.


Strong team performance across both races
Overall, the team delivered a solid performance across both events. Dutch rider Fee Knaven and Britain’s Abigail Miller remained in the front group alongside Shaw until the finish.
They placed 15th and 23rd respectively, contributing to a consistent and competitive team showing.
