Listen on:

Ever felt that incredible rush of joy after a tough workout? That’s the “light and electricity” of sports, and it’s what makes it so powerful for everyone, not just the pros. Join host Afshan as she chats with Najla Hallit, a remarkable community athlete who embodies this spirit. Najla is about to take on one of triathlon’s biggest challenges: Challenge Roth in Germany on June 25th.

Challenge Roth is a massive event, attracting over 3,500 participants, 260,000 spectators, and 7,500 volunteers annually, a true festival of endurance. Despite only starting sports in 2020 at the age of 36, she spoke to Afshan ahead of taking on her second full long-distance triathlon (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run).

This episode, published on June 19th, 2023, isn’t just about the race; it’s about what sports can teach us about life. Najla shares her insights on:

  • The discipline, commitment, balance, and sacrifice required to train 12-16 hours weekly while managing a non-professional life.
  • Developing a strong physical and mental foundation for endurance.
  • Finding a supportive community to keep you going.

Get ready to be inspired by Najla’s journey and learn how sports can illuminate your life
